Our Story

North Atlanta Star began with a simple observation: North Atlanta was growing quickly, but clear, practical local reporting wasn’t keeping pace.

New developments, changing neighborhoods, rising home costs, shifting school zones, and everyday lifestyle decisions were shaping daily life across Alpharetta, Johns Creek, Roswell, Cumming, Suwanee, Duluth, and surrounding communities. Yet much of the information residents relied on was either fragmented, promotional, or out of date.

North Atlanta Star was created to fill that gap.

From the beginning, the goal was not to chase headlines or trends, but to explain how North Atlanta actually works—street by street, neighborhood by neighborhood. We focus on the questions people quietly ask as they live here: where growth is happening, how development affects daily life, what services really cost, and how local choices shape long-term quality of life.

Our coverage blends reporting, observation, and practical guides. Some articles are timely and news-driven. Others are evergreen resources designed to remain useful long after publication. Together, they form a growing local reference library for residents, newcomers, and business owners alike.

We write for people who live here—not tourists, not outsiders, and not algorithms alone. That means clear language, grounded context, and restraint. When we feature local businesses, we do so transparently. When we cover development or planning, we focus on impact rather than speculation. When possible, we also publish select coverage in Spanish to better reflect and serve North Atlanta’s growing Latino community.

North Atlanta continues to evolve. Our role is to document that evolution carefully, thoughtfully, and in a way that helps readers make informed decisions about where they live, work, and invest.

North Atlanta Star is independently operated and locally focused. We believe strong communities are built on understanding—and that good local journalism still matters.
