Paraprofessional (Specialized Instruction)

Otwell Middle School is seeking a specialized-instruction paraprofessional for a 190-day position. Working under a teacher’s supervision, the employee will support individual students and small groups, reinforce lessons, help manage classroom routines and behavior, prepare materials, maintain records and assist with assessments. The assignment can also include clerical duties and physical support tied to student needs. Applicants must be eligible for a Georgia Professional Standards Commission paraprofessional license. That generally requires an associate degree or higher, or a passing GACE paraprofessional assessment together with a high school diploma or equivalent. The work is performed at the school and may require lifting up to 50 pounds. The district classifies the role as nonexempt and covered by the Teachers Retirement System.
