Local Business of the Week
Some places stay with you after a visit. It might be the food, the service, the atmosphere, or simply the way a business fits into the rhythm of local life. Each week, North Atlanta Star highlights a small number of businesses that feel worth noticing and sharing.
Our Local Business of the Week feature is designed for thoughtful, locally relevant businesses that readers would genuinely want to know about. We are especially interested in independent places, owner-led businesses, neighborhood favorites, and businesses that add something meaningful to daily life in Johns Creek, Alpharetta, Roswell, Milton, Duluth, Suwanee, and South Forsyth.
This is not a directory submission page or a mass advertising intake form. We keep these features selective and editorial in feel. Some businesses are ones we discover on our own. Others come through reader suggestions or direct outreach from owners.
What We Look For
We tend to be drawn to businesses that feel grounded, well run, and connected to the communities we cover. That can include restaurants, cafés, specialty shops, wellness businesses, homegrown services, family-run operations, and other local businesses that bring something distinctive to the area.
We are not looking only for brand-new businesses. Sometimes the strongest fit is a place that has been quietly serving the community for years and deserves a closer look.
What a Feature May Include
A Local Business of the Week feature may include a written article, homepage or in-article visibility, social sharing, newsletter inclusion, or a small reader perk when appropriate and agreed upon. Not every feature includes every element, but the goal is always the same: to highlight businesses in a way that feels useful, credible, and neighborly.
Before You Apply
Please submit only if the business is clearly relevant to our coverage area. We focus on North Fulton, South Forsyth, and nearby communities that directly connect to that footprint.
We also ask that submissions be genuine and complete. A short, thoughtful explanation of why the business matters is much more helpful than a promotional pitch.
If you are the owner, you are welcome to introduce your own business. If you are a reader, you are welcome to recommend a place you think deserves attention.
We review submissions on a rolling basis. Because selections are limited, not every business submitted will be featured, but every thoughtful submission helps us build a stronger picture of the local businesses shaping everyday life here.
A Note on Editorial Independence
Submission does not guarantee coverage. North Atlanta Star makes final editorial decisions about what to feature, when to publish, and how a business is presented. Our aim is to keep the feature useful to readers and true to the publication’s voice.
