About North Atlanta Star
North Atlanta Star was created to tell the stories of a region in motion.
Covering Johns Creek, Alpharetta, Milton, Roswell, South Forsyth and Cumming, as well as Suwanee, Sugar Hill, Duluth and Peachtree Corners, the publication follows the everyday life of North Atlanta—its schools, roads, neighborhoods, local businesses, food, recreation and development, along with the quieter changes that gradually reshape a community.
The goal is to tell readers not only what is happening, but why it matters where they live.
From Fiction to Community Storytelling
I’m Tsvi Jolles, a writer and author living in Cumming, Georgia. I came to local journalism through fiction, which taught me to look beyond what happens and pay attention to the people at the heart of a story—their hopes, struggles and private worlds.
North Atlanta Star grew from that same curiosity. It is especially important in covering local businesses, where an opening is rarely just an opening. Behind the storefront may be someone investing their savings, continuing a family tradition or rebuilding after a setback.
The same human perspective applies to the region’s growth. New development affects traffic, schools, home prices, green space and the character of the places we call home. North Atlanta Star tells those stories through the experiences of the people living them.
Local Journalism With a Human Voice
North Atlanta Star is independent, locally focused and free to read. It is for people who want to understand what is changing around them—from growth along GA 400 and new development in South Forsyth to the schools, roads and businesses that shape daily life across North Fulton and Northeast Gwinnett.
A community is shaped not only in council chambers, but also in its school pickup lines, local restaurants, neighborhood trails, youth sports fields and the small places neighbors discover and share.
As North Atlanta Star grows, its purpose will remain the same: to pay close attention to the communities north of Atlanta and tell their stories with clarity, curiosity and humanity.
