Along the Peachtree Parkway corridor near Target, Walmart and GA 141, D1 Training South Forsyth offers something different from a conventional neighborhood gym. Its indoor turf, strength stations and coach-led sessions are designed to give children, teenagers and adults a structured athletic-training experience rather than simple access to exercise equipment.
The facility is close to the Johns Creek–South Forsyth line. Inside, athletes move between sprinting and agility work on the turf, strength exercises, conditioning and recovery. Sessions generally last 54 minutes and follow a consistent sequence that D1 describes as inspired by Division I college strength-and-conditioning programs.
Training Beyond Regular Sports Practice
D1 does not concentrate on the rules or techniques of one sport. Instead, its coaches work on the physical abilities that can transfer across basketball, soccer, baseball, football, tennis and other activities: speed, balance, coordination, strength, stamina and explosive movement.

The youth program is separated by age. Rookie classes serve children ages 7 to 11 and emphasize movement fundamentals, coordination and teamwork. Devo, for ages 12 to 14, introduces more advanced speed, strength and conditioning work. Prep serves high-school athletes ages 15 to 18 with programming that more closely resembles serious athletic-performance training.
This structure allows a younger child learning how to move confidently and a varsity athlete pursuing a specific goal to train in the same facility without being placed in the same program.
D1 South Forsyth also offers personal training, small-group coaching, team sessions and specialty programs. Adults can participate in coach-led workouts combining functional movement, strength and conditioning. It is therefore closer to a dedicated training facility than an open gym where members exercise independently.
A Locally Owned Facility
The South Forsyth location opened in 2025 under local owners Adam and Mindy Pure, parents of four children involved in sports. Their facility brings the nationally established D1 model into a part of North Atlanta where school teams, recreation leagues and travel sports are a significant part of family life.
Pricing is not presented as a single public membership rate. Prospective participants can contact the facility or schedule an introductory assessment to discuss goals, class schedules and available plans. The cost reflects regular coaching and programmed sessions rather than equipment access alone.
Part of a National Network
D1 began in Nashville in 2001, founded by former University of Tennessee football player Will Bartholomew. The company has since expanded into a national franchise network with more than 150 locations.

The South Forsyth branch is particularly convenient for families along Peachtree Parkway, McGinnis Ferry Road and the Johns Creek border. Other regional locations include D1 Milton on Highway 9 in Alpharetta, D1 Buford near Hamilton Mill and facilities in Sandy Springs, Atlanta’s Upper Westside, the Marietta area and Watkinsville.
For local families, the appeal is straightforward: specialized coaching without another long drive across metro Atlanta. D1 South Forsyth places a college-style training environment directly within the same GA 141 corridor where residents already shop, dine and handle their daily errands.
D1 Training South Forsyth is located at 2569 Peachtree Parkway, Suite 270, Cumming. The facility can be reached at 470-330-8893 or through the D1 South Forsyth website.
