Nov. 3, shortly after 7 p.m. ET | Ossoff and Bottoms lead in early returns
Fulton and Gwinnett helped put Democrats Jon Ossoff and Keisha Lance Bottoms ahead in the first unofficial returns from Georgia. The Secretary of State’s dashboard showed 13 of 159 counties reporting in both races shortly after polls closed Tuesday.
In the U.S. Senate race, Ossoff had 520,317 votes (72.63%) to Republican Mike Collins’ 196,043 (27.37%). In the governor’s race, Bottoms had 486,918 votes (68.04%) to Republican Rick Jackson’s 228,670 (31.96%).
In the state’s 7:08 p.m. county breakdown, Ossoff led Collins 274,486 to 63,109 in Fulton and 175,017 to 62,303 in Gwinnett. Bottoms led Jackson 257,166 to 79,567 in Fulton and 164,809 to 72,501 in Gwinnett.
These figures reflect an early count from election night. Most counties were still absent from the statewide totals at that point.
Correction: An earlier update relied on a pre-close dashboard snapshot. The state posted unofficial returns after polls closed.
