Fulton County is hiring a Utility Locate Technician for its Public Works Department at 11575 Maxwell Road in Alpharetta. The posted salary range is $43,622 to $64,070 a year.
The employee locates underground water and sewer infrastructure using electronic equipment, maps, blueprints and GIS/GPS information. Duties also include assisting utility crews, handling locate tickets and completing field paperwork.
Applicants need a high school diploma or GED and two years of relevant utility-locating experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. An associate degree is preferred. A valid Georgia driver’s license is required. The work includes outdoor conditions and confined spaces.
