O’Kelley’s Upholstery & Design repairs and reupholsters furniture from its workshop on Broad Street in Chamblee. Founded by Cecil O’Kelley in 1979, the business moved from Atlanta’s Buckhead area to Chamblee in 2017. It works with homeowners, interior designers and businesses, handling fabric and leather upholstery as well as custom furniture. Projects range from replacing dining-chair seat covers and restoring sofas to building upholstered beds, headboards and ottomans.
The workshop also makes indoor and outdoor cushions, throw pillows and fabric wall coverings. Customers can bring sketches or photographs for custom pieces, while existing furniture can receive frame updates and spring-system repairs before new upholstery is fitted. Commercial work includes restaurant booths, banquettes and office furniture. O’Kelley’s offers online estimate requests and can help arrange pickup and delivery for pieces too large for customers to transport. The shop is open weekdays, with a midday closure from 1 to 2 p.m.
