A Family Swim Can Cost $12 or $45 at North Atlanta’s Public Pools

Family swim prices at North Atlanta public pools vary widely depending on residency and location. Roswell offers the lowest rates for residents, while Gwinnett charges higher nonresident fees. Cumming’s facility is year-round, unlike the seasonal pools offering lower prices.

Families looking for one more pool day before summer ends can pay dramatically different prices depending on where they live—and whether the facility recognizes them as residents.

A family of four can enter Roswell Area Park Pool for $12 with city residency. The same family would spend $34 at the Cumming Aquatic Center or as much as $45 at a Gwinnett County aquatic center without Gwinnett residency.

The comparison below uses two adults and two children ages 4 to 10. Children below each facility’s free-admission age would lower the total.

Cumming Aquatic Center$9 adults; $8 youthSame price$34$34

Prices reflect published admission rates available Aug. 14. Amenities, hours and seasonal schedules vary, so the cheapest pool is not necessarily a direct substitute for the most expensive one.

Roswell offers the lowest basic admission

Roswell Area Park Pool charges city residents $3 per visit and nonresidents $5. Children younger than 2 enter free.

That makes Roswell the least expensive option in this comparison even for families who live elsewhere. Two adults and two school-age children would pay $20 without Roswell residency—less than the resident-family price at a Gwinnett aquatic center.

The tradeoff is that Roswell Area Park Pool is a seasonal outdoor facility. Its 2026 season ends on Labor Day, making daily admission more practical than a season pass for most families arriving in mid-August.

Alpharetta’s residency discount cuts the price in half

Daily admission at Wills Park Pool is $5 for Alpharetta residents and $10 for everyone else. Children age 3 and younger are free.

For the sample family, that creates a $20 difference at the gate: $20 with residency and $40 without it.

The discount applies to residents of the incorporated City of Alpharetta, not everyone with an Alpharetta mailing address. Visitors seeking the lower rate should bring a driver’s license, state identification or utility bill showing city residency.

Wills Park is also seasonal. Families considering a pass should account for the limited number of swimming days remaining before Labor Day.

Gwinnett prices depend on age as well as residency

Gwinnett County uses age-based admission at facilities including Bogan Park Aquatic Center near Sugar Hill and West Gwinnett Park Aquatic Center near Peachtree Corners.

Under the county’s current aquatic admission schedule, Gwinnett residents pay $5.25 for children ages 4 to 10 and $6.50 for visitors ages 11 to 49. Children 3 and younger and adults 50 or older pay $4.25.

Non-Gwinnett prices are nearly double: $10.25 for ages 4 to 10, $12.50 for ages 11 to 49 and $8.25 for the youngest and oldest groups.

For a Gwinnett family, the price remains competitive because county residents can use multiple aquatic facilities. Bogan Park, for example, has an indoor leisure pool and competition pool, allowing swimming beyond the outdoor summer season.

Proof of Gwinnett residency is required for the county rate.

Cumming Aquatic Center

Cumming charges more, but the facility operates year-round

The Cumming Aquatic Center does not separate city residents, Forsyth County residents and visitors.

Admission is $9 for adults ages 14 to 59 and $8 for children ages 2 to 13 and seniors 60 or older. Children younger than 2 are free.

That places the sample family’s daily cost at $34. Unlike the seasonal pools in Alpharetta and Roswell, however, the Cumming complex includes indoor competition and instructional facilities that operate throughout the year, along with its seasonal outdoor leisure pool.

Regular swimmers may find a longer pass more economical. An adult annual pass costs $300, equivalent to slightly more than 33 individual visits. A youth annual pass is $210, which breaks even after about 27 visits at the $8 daily rate.

Check both residency and hours before leaving

Municipal boundaries matter more than ZIP codes in this comparison. A Johns Creek resident receives the nonresident price in Alpharetta and Roswell, while residents of Duluth, Suwanee, Sugar Hill and Peachtree Corners generally qualify for Gwinnett County rates.

Pool schedules can also change for swim meets, lessons, maintenance or capacity limits. Families should check the facility’s same-day schedule before driving over, particularly as seasonal pools move toward reduced late-summer hours.

For a single inexpensive outing, Roswell has the clearest price advantage. For year-round swimming, Cumming and Gwinnett offer higher-cost facilities with substantially longer seasons.
