15 Companies Added or Moved More Than 1,300 Jobs Into Alpharetta in a Year

Fifteen companies expanded or relocated to Alpharetta in the past year, creating over 1,300 jobs and investing more than $73 million in the area. Key employers like Equifax and Landis+Gyr have active job openings, making Alpharetta a growing hub for corporate business and employment in North Fulton.

ALPHARETTA, Ga. — More than 1,300 jobs have been connected to companies relocating to or expanding in Alpharetta over the past year, adding another layer to the city’s unusually large suburban employment base.

Fifteen companies relocated or expanded in Alpharetta during the most recent 12-month period, representing more than 1,328 jobs and more than $73 million in investment, according to an August economic-development update from Select Fulton.

Some of Alpharetta’s recent growth has come from companies moving existing employees from other parts of the region into the city.

That makes the numbers less dramatic as a measure of metro-wide job creation, but still consequential for North Fulton. Alpharetta is continuing to pull corporate employment northward, increasing the number of people who can potentially work closer to communities such as Johns Creek, Milton, Roswell and South Forsyth.

A wave of headquarters moves

An earlier Alpharetta economic-development tally provides a clearer picture of where the growth has been coming from.

By April, nine companies had relocated or expanded in the city over a nine-month period, accounting for more than 1,200 jobs and $33 million in investment. Six of those nine projects were relocations, and all six came from elsewhere in metro Atlanta.

The companies included 5Q, Ansell, ACCIONA, Hisense, Kawneer and Kloeckner Metals. Together, those companies leased more than 155,000 square feet of Alpharetta office space. Equifax, UPS and medical-device manufacturer PAJUNK accounted for three expansion projects.

Since then, the list has continued to grow. Landis+Gyr expanded its North American headquarters in Alpharetta’s North Point area this spring, moving most of its operational management team and C-suite executives there. The energy-technology company already employed more than 385 people in Alpharetta when the expansion was announced.

The broader pattern includes U.S. headquarters moves by Hisense, a headquarters relocation by Kawneer, Kloeckner Metals’ move to Sanctuary Park and expansions by several companies already established in the city. Alpharetta’s economic-development department tracks the recent projects here.

The jobs that are actually open now

For workers, the more useful question is which companies are hiring today.

Two of the companies involved in Alpharetta’s recent growth — Equifax and Landis+Gyr — currently have multiple positions advertised locally.

Equifax’s current Alpharetta openings include a senior data analyst, data product owner and intermediate site reliability engineer. The company also has additional positions that can be based in either Alpharetta or Atlanta. Current Equifax openings can be searched here.

One data product owner position posted this week requires a bachelor’s degree and two to five years of experience in data analysis, product ownership or consulting. Familiarity with SQL, Python and business-intelligence tools is among the qualifications.

Landis+Gyr’s hiring is particularly active.

As of Friday, Aug. 14, the company had recent Alpharetta postings for a hardware quality-assurance engineer, treasury manager, firmware engineer, director of commercial operations, technical writer, SAP solutions architect, technical implementation engineer and software-development engineer. Several were posted within the past few days. Landis+Gyr’s current jobs are available here.

Some of the technical positions carry six-figure salary ranges. A staff firmware engineer opening lists base pay of $98,122 to $142,088, while a senior software-development engineer position lists $100,600 to $125,420. Actual offers depend on experience, education, skills and other qualifications.

There is also an option for students. Landis+Gyr is recruiting for a paid fall 2026 co-op program at its Alpharetta headquarters for undergraduate students able to work full-time during alternating work semesters. The company does not provide housing or relocation assistance, making the program particularly relevant to students already living in the area.
