Technology Support Technician Substitute

This substitute technician supports computer hardware, software and network services across Forsyth County schools. Assignments include installing and troubleshooting devices and applications, handling service tickets, assisting with system upgrades and equipment rollouts, configuring network hardware, monitoring availability and performance, documenting work and helping employees use district technology. The role may also coordinate with vendors and apply access and security controls under district procedures. Applicants need a high school diploma or equivalent plus CompTIA A+ certification or an accepted job-specific equivalent. A background in information-technology troubleshooting is required, while two years of related experience and manufacturer certifications from Dell, HP or Acer are preferred. The work is performed on site and can require lifting up to 50 pounds. The district posting does not disclose an hourly rate.
