Alpharetta Police is hiring a communications professional to manage public information and the department’s social-media presence. The coordinator writes news releases, advisories and statements; responds to media and public questions; creates photo, video and graphic content; updates web pages; supports community events; and helps coordinate crisis communications. Applicants need a bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, graphic design or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The city also requires four years of progressively responsible work in strategic communications, public relations, media production or digital content. Public-information-officer knowledge, strong writing, advanced Adobe and video skills, and a valid Georgia driver’s license are expected. Hours may include evenings, weekends and holidays. The full-time position pays $68,575 to $80,232 annually and includes city benefits.
