Sugar Hill is seeking a full-time GIS specialist to manage and expand the city’s geographic-information program. The employee will maintain enterprise databases and map layers, publish web-based GIS products, integrate and standardize data, prepare maps, document workflows and support staff with technical questions. Assignments may involve planning, economic development, transportation, utilities, public safety and public works. Applicants need a bachelor’s degree with coursework in geography, GIS, computer science or a related field, plus two years of professional experience with ArcGIS Pro, enterprise geodatabases and geospatial analysis. An equivalent mix of education and experience may be considered, and GISP certification is preferred. A valid Georgia driver’s license is required. The work is mainly indoors but can include evening or weekend meetings. Applications may be emailed to the city clerk or delivered to City Hall. No salary or closing date is stated.
