Job description
The City of Sugar Hill is seeking a full-time facility-maintenance technician to handle general repairs and preventive work in city buildings. The employee will perform light carpentry, masonry, electrical, plumbing and painting tasks; help plan facility projects; support custodial and energy-conservation work; track required inspections; and complete work orders. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, two years of building-trades experience—preferably in occupied facilities—and a valid driver’s license. The role also calls for basic Microsoft Office skills, familiarity with safety practices and the ability to read or learn construction drawings. Work may follow a shift or staggered schedule and include unusual hours during emergencies. The technician must be able to perform heavy physical labor, work outdoors, stand or walk for long periods and lift 50 pounds. Applications may be emailed to the city clerk or delivered to City Hall.
