Pinecrest Academy has earned the No. 1 spot among Georgia’s Catholic high schools in Niche’s 2027 school rankings, along with the state’s top ranking for Catholic K-12 schools and an overall A+ grade.
The private Catholic school, which serves students from PreK3 through 12th grade in south Forsyth County, also ranked No. 1 among private high schools in Forsyth County, according to its Sept. 29 announcement. Pinecrest placed eighth among private K-12 schools in Georgia and eighth among Catholic K-12 schools nationally.
“Being recognized as the No. 1 Catholic High School in Georgia by Niche is a tremendous honor and a reflection of the dedication of our students, faculty, staff, and families,” said Denise Cress, Pinecrest’s interim head of school.
The annual rankings combine school data with reviews from families and students. Niche’s 2027 methodology includes changes to private-school evaluations, including accreditation and expanded measures of college-level coursework in certain categories. The rankings represent the platform’s assessment rather than a state-issued school rating.
Pinecrest also reported earning Platinum distinction on the College Board’s 2025 AP School Honor Roll, its third consecutive year receiving the program’s highest designation.
