Trader Joe’s is preparing to open five additional grocery stores in Texas, Florida and Arizona in 2027, bringing its specialty-food aisles to three Texas metropolitan areas and two more Sun Belt communities.
The five are among 16 newly announced locations nationwide. With earlier plans included, the retailer now has 30 upcoming stores on its opening roster. The company has identified the addresses but has not announced grand-opening dates for the five Sun Belt additions.
Three Texas stores across three metropolitan areas
Texas will receive three of the newly announced stores. In the Houston area, Trader Joe’s is headed to 5130 Bellaire Blvd., Suite 100, in Bellaire. The site is in an established shopping corridor near an H-E-B, adding another grocery choice for residents who currently travel to other Houston-area Trader Joe’s locations.
Northwest of Austin, a store is planned for 1800 E. Whitestone Blvd. in Cedar Park, putting the chain closer to households in the growing communities along the U.S. 183 corridor.
In the Dallas-Fort Worth area, the new address is 1580 E. Debbie Lane in Mansfield. That location will serve a southern part of the region that has seen sustained suburban development.
All three Texas locations are listed as coming soon. The retailer has indicated a 2027 opening target, but no specific opening days or hiring schedules have been released.
Phoenix and Boynton Beach also get new locations
Arizona’s newest addition will be at 4519 E. Thomas Road in Phoenix. It is separate from another previously announced Phoenix store on North Tatum Boulevard. Both remain on the company’s coming-soon list.
In South Florida, Trader Joe’s will open at 334 N. Congress Ave., Unit B, in Boynton Beach. The announcement adds a new option in Palm Beach County, where the chain already operates in nearby communities.
The five stores are among a broader group of new openings planned for 2027, which also includes locations outside the Sun Belt. The expansion places the retailer in neighborhoods ranging from established urban shopping districts to sprawling suburbs.
Why an address is not an opening date
Trader Joe’s often confirms new stores on its website before construction, hiring and opening arrangements are complete. The latest national rollout includes 16 newly added addresses, but the retailer has not assigned a date to each future opening. Some locations elsewhere in the country already have firm schedules; the five new Sun Belt stores do not.
The chain is known for smaller-format grocery stores and private-label products, a different shopping model from a full-size supermarket. The new sites will enter competitive grocery markets rather than introduce food retail to underserved cities.
Store sizes, employee counts and opening-day promotions have not been published for these five locations. Those details generally emerge closer to an opening. For now, customers in Bellaire, Cedar Park, Mansfield, Phoenix and Boynton Beach have a confirmed address and a target year, but not a date to circle on the calendar.
