Major local stories and useful updates, once a week.

Across North Atlanta, the week also brings an Eric Clapton tribute in Cumming, two Russian symphonies in Alpharetta, a Día de los Muertos celebration in Norcross and Halloween festivals in Cherokee County.
There are things to do before the weekend, too: a free screening of Casper on Monday, a children’s costume party Tuesday and food trucks in Crabapple on Thursday. Here are 16 outings to consider, from an afternoon movie to a Sunday charity walk. All times are Eastern.
