Custom Closet Companies Serving Alpharetta, Cumming and Suwanee

Several custom closet companies serve Alpharetta, Cumming, Suwanee, and nearby communities with showroom and in-home design services. Learn how to plan and compare projects for your home storage needs.

A crowded closet does not always need more square footage. Sometimes it needs a second hanging rail, shelves at the right height or drawers that replace a stack of storage bins.

For homeowners in Alpharetta, Johns Creek, Cumming, Suwanee and nearby communities, several companies design and install custom closets and other home storage systems. Some offer showrooms where customers can compare finishes and hardware. Others bring samples into the home and design around the space itself.

Here are five options to explore, followed by questions to ask before approving a project. This is a starting list, not a ranking.

Where to see materials in person

SpaceMakers lists its Suwanee showroom at 3665 Swiftwater Park Drive, Suite 304. The Tailored Closet of Atlanta lists a showroom at 2860 Peachtree Industrial Boulevard, Unit 100, in Duluth.

Closet Cabinet Pro directs customers to its showroom at 745 Atlanta Road, Suite 101, in Cumming. Its Alpharetta headquarters primarily handles contractor and partner meetings.

An in-home consultation is another option. Cumming Closets says it brings material and finish samples to customers and measures the space during the design visit; it does not operate a showroom.

Start with what needs to fit

Before requesting a design, make a simple inventory. How much clothing needs to hang? How many shoes need shelves? Do suitcases, bedding or seasonal decorations also occupy the closet?

For a shared closet, identify each person’s needs separately. A design with plenty of short hanging space may leave nowhere for long dresses or coats. Deep shelves may accommodate bedding but make smaller items harder to find.

The same approach works for a pantry or laundry room. Measure the appliances, baskets and containers you intend to keep, and ask the designer to show where they will go.

Compare the whole quote

Ask each company to quote a similar layout so the differences are easier to understand. A proposal with open shelves and hanging rails is not directly comparable to one with multiple drawers, cabinet doors and lighting.

Request a written breakdown covering materials, hardware, installation and any optional accessories. Clarify who removes the existing shelving, patches holes and paints the walls. If lighting is included, ask who handles the electrical work and whether that cost appears in the proposal.

Also distinguish the installation time from the full project timeline. Cumming Closets, for example, says many installations take one day, while consultation, design and fabrication typically take several weeks. A short installation does not necessarily mean a short wait.

Questions to ask before paying a deposit

Ask whether shelves and hanging rails can be repositioned later, what the materials and workmanship warranties cover, and how changes after design approval affect the price.

Review the final drawing carefully. Check door clearance, drawer access and whether everyday items will be within comfortable reach. Keep a copy of the approved design with the written quote.
