North Fulton voters face school and transportation tax questions

Alongside the candidate races, Fulton County voters are deciding whether to renew a 1% sales tax for schools. The proposal would run for up to five years and raise no more than about $2.1 billion for school projects across the county.

Voters in Fulton cities outside Atlanta, including Alpharetta, Johns Creek, Milton, Roswell and Sandy Springs, also face a separate 0.75% transportation sales tax question. If approved, that tax would run from April 2027 through March 2032 for road and other transportation improvements. Neither ballot question has a result yet.

Background and earlier reporting Read more

Polls across North Atlanta remain open until 7 p.m. Tuesday. After they close, county election offices will begin reporting unofficial returns. This page will follow confirmed developments in Fulton, Forsyth and Gwinnett counties and Georgia’s statewide races through the evening.

Early totals may reflect different groups of ballots at different times. A lead in the first returns is not a final result. We will identify the race, county, number of votes counted and reporting time when those details are available, and distinguish official county returns from any news organization’s race projection.

Where the count stands

Georgia’s election results page links to the state’s returns. Fulton County says its tabulation is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Gwinnett County says its results will be available after polls close. We will also check Forsyth County’s election information. All election-night results are unofficial until certified.

For an explanation of why early leads can move and why the final count takes longer, read our guide to Georgia’s election-night count.
