Kidcreate Studio Opens in South Forsyth With Art, Science and Sensory Programs

A new children’s studio in South Forsyth is inviting families to make art, experiment with science and embrace the occasional mess.
Kidcreate Studio opened Saturday, Aug. 29, at 1810 Peachtree Parkway, Suite 105, in Cumming. The locally owned business offers weekly classes, workshops, camps, birthday parties and school-break programs built around hands-on learning rather than screens.
Katie and Mike Arguel own the Cumming studio. Both come from education backgrounds and say they wanted to create a safe, encouraging place where children could explore ideas and gain confidence through creative work.
The location combines several programs under one roof. Kidcreate Studio centers on drawing, painting, sculpture, clay and mixed media, while Kidscientific introduces science and engineering through experiments. Little Hands Discovery provides sensory play for toddlers and preschoolers, and Extreme Art Studio offers more advanced projects for older children and teenagers.
That range makes the opening broader than a conventional after-school art class. A preschooler might begin with color, texture and basic materials. Elementary-age students can progress through courses covering brush control, composition, sculpture and drawing from life. Older participants can experiment with advanced media, study art history and begin developing an individual style.
The Cumming studio organizes its year-round art program into three levels: Art 1 for ages 4 to 6, Art 2 for ages 7 to 9 and Art 3 for ages 10 and older. Families can also choose one-time workshops instead of committing to a recurring class.
Camps serve children as young as 3 and include themed projects involving acrylic paint, clay, comics, glow art and mixed media. Single-day camps are planned for teacher workdays, holidays and other dates when schools are closed, giving parents another option when regular classroom schedules pause.
The studio also hosts private art birthday parties, providing materials, instruction and cleanup while each guest completes a project to take home.
Kidcreate’s arrival adds a different kind of children’s enrichment business to the Peachtree Parkway corridor. South Forsyth already has an extensive network of youth sports, tutoring centers and academic programs, but fewer dedicated spaces where children can work with physical art materials in a setting designed specifically for them.
That distinction may matter to families looking for activities that do not involve another screen or a competitive team.
The studio emphasizes finished projects and skill development, but its format also leaves room for experimentation. Paint, slime, clay and other materials are treated as part of the learning process rather than a household cleanup problem.
Kidcreate can also take programs outside its storefront. The business works with schools, homeschool groups, scout troops, libraries, nonprofits and community organizations through mobile classes and pop-up workshops.
Kidcreate is a national children’s-art franchise with more than 30 studios, including an existing Johns Creek location. Each studio is locally operated while using the company’s curriculum and program formats.
For the Arguels, the new South Forsyth location offers a way to combine their interest in education with a business centered on family life and community involvement.
For local parents, its value is more practical: a place where children can paint, build, experiment and leave with something they made themselves.
