Custodian

Forsyth Central High School is hiring a custodian for a 240-day support position. The employee will clean and maintain assigned indoor and outdoor areas, move furniture and equipment, help prepare the campus for authorized activities and report maintenance or safety problems. School custodians may also be asked to monitor students during emergencies. A high school diploma or equivalent and six months of custodial experience are preferred, but neither is listed as a firm minimum. The work requires frequent standing, walking, bending and use of cleaning supplies, with exposure to dust, fumes and changing temperatures. Applicants should also be prepared to push, pull and lift heavy items; the job description notes lifting up to 100 pounds with assistance. The district classifies the role as nonexempt and covered by the Public School Employees Retirement System. Pay was not disclosed.
