YAVA Kitchen and Brewhouse Sets Oct. 5 Return in Cumming

YAVA Kitchen and Brewhouse will welcome customers back Monday, Oct. 5, returning one of the largest dining and gathering spaces in Cumming’s Westshore development to regular service.
The 8,000-square-foot restaurant and brewery at 3001 Market Place Blvd. is now preparing for its return, including hiring staff and getting its dining room, brewery and outdoor spaces ready for October.
For customers who discovered YAVA after its February debut, the reopening brings back an unusually ambitious local concept: a kitchen where much of the menu is cooked over wood, working brewhouse, taproom, lounge, patio and open-air biergarten gathered under one roof.
YAVA opened Feb. 17 after a lengthy development and construction process. Its first months introduced Forsyth County diners to a restaurant designed as much around lingering and gathering as around the meal itself.
The scale is a large part of the idea. The restaurant can accommodate more than 300 guests and includes seven spaces for private dining, meetings, celebrations and larger events. Atlanta design firm ai3 created an interior with warm wood finishes, natural light and separate areas that allow the building to shift from lunch and dinner service to private gatherings and evening drinks.
The kitchen centers on a large grill, with a menu spanning shareable dishes, burgers, sandwiches and wood-fired entrées. Cocktails and wine accompany beer produced only a short distance from the tables.
That brewery is what separates YAVA from most of Forsyth County’s larger restaurants. Master brewer Alex Ciaburri oversees small-batch production on the property, with house beers ranging from lighter lagers to IPAs, darker ales and European-inspired styles. Guest taps from other Georgia breweries round out the beer selection.
The kitchen and brewery were conceived together, allowing the food and beer offerings to change with the seasons rather than operating as two unrelated parts of the business.
For Westshore, YAVA’s return also restores an important gathering place within a development that is gradually changing this section of Market Place Boulevard. The restaurant had also begun establishing a weekly rhythm before its temporary closure, including happy hour, Thursday evening live music and Sunday brunch.
Those recurring events are expected to return as regular operations resume.
YAVA is currently recruiting servers, bussers and bartenders, with walk-in interviews available from noon to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The hiring push is one of the clearest signs that preparations have moved into the final stretch ahead of Oct. 5.
Online reservations and ordering were not yet available as of Sept. 7 but are expected to return as the restaurant resumes operations. Additional reopening information is available through YAVA Kitchen and Brewhouse.
Regular hours are expected to be 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for Sunday brunch, followed by dinner from 4 to 10 p.m.
