Chipotle Opens Third Cumming Restaurant in Coal Mountain
Chipotle opens a Coal Mountain restaurant Nov. 4 with an order-ahead pickup lane, bringing a third Cumming location closer to north Forsyth residents.

Major local stories and useful updates, once a week.
Forsyth County’s newest Chipotle opens Wednesday, Nov. 4, bringing the chain’s order-ahead drive-through format to the growing Coal Mountain area.
The restaurant is at 3564 Browns Bridge Road, Suite A, near Bridgetowne Drive and the Ga. 400 interchange. It becomes the third Chipotle with a Cumming address and the first serving the northern part of the county.
The other two operate on Market Place Boulevard near downtown Cumming and on Ronald Reagan Boulevard in South Forsyth. The new location gives residents around Coal Mountain, Matt Highway and north Forsyth schools a closer option.
A drive-through for orders placed ahead
The Coal Mountain restaurant includes a Chipotlane, a pickup window reserved for orders placed through Chipotle’s app or website.
Unlike a conventional drive-through, customers do not order or pay at a speaker. They select the restaurant and a pickup time before arriving, then collect the completed order without leaving their vehicle. Customers can still enter the restaurant to order and eat inside.
The format has become central to Chipotle’s expansion. The company opened its 1,500th Chipotlane in September after adding 500 of the pickup lanes in less than two years.
Chipotle expects to open 350 to 370 restaurants in North America during 2026, with the drive-through pickup model favored for many new suburban locations.
Coal Mountain adds another restaurant
The approximately 2,200-square-foot restaurant occupies one side of a new freestanding building at Coal Mountain Shops. The addition expands an established center that already includes PNC Bank, The Bagel Hole, Barre3, Smoothie King, Wingstop and Pizzeria Azzurri.
Its location reflects the continuing commercial growth around Browns Bridge Road and the newer Ga. 400 interchange. What was once a largely residential stretch of north Forsyth is gaining more restaurants, shops and services as development moves north from Cumming’s traditional retail corridors.
The broader Coal Mountain area is also preparing for a proposed 140-acre town center with housing, commercial space and public gathering areas. That project will develop over a longer period, but smaller openings such as Chipotle are already changing the everyday options available nearby.
For Chipotle, the Coal Mountain restaurant fills the geographic gap between its existing Cumming locations and restaurants in Dawsonville, Canton and Sugar Hill.
The menu includes customizable burritos, bowls, tacos, salads and quesadillas, with pickup, delivery and catering available. The restaurant is scheduled to open Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 3564 Browns Bridge Road, Suite A, in Cumming.
