Michelin-Recognized Tomo Plans Downtown Alpharetta Restaurant

Tomo Japanese Restaurant will open a second location in downtown Alpharetta, offering sushi, sashimi, and omakase in a new 2,800-square-foot space near the Alpharetta Town Green.

Tomo Japanese Restaurant is preparing to open a second location in downtown Alpharetta, bringing the Buckhead restaurant’s sushi, sashimi and omakase experience to North Fulton.

Tomo’s management confirmed to North Atlanta Star that the restaurant is planned for 100 N. Main St., Suite 120, near the Alpharetta Town Green. The approximately 2,797-square-foot location is expected to open in 2027, although a specific date has not been announced. Owner Candi Hoang confirmed the expansion in an interview with What Now Atlanta.

Plans call for a sushi bar, natural materials and warm lighting, along with an outdoor area inspired by Japanese gardens.

“It is about the ingredients, the craftsmanship, the hospitality and the connection we create with our guests,” owner Candi Hoang said in a statement provided to North Atlanta Star.

Tomo’s menu will include sushi and sashimi, seasonal Japanese dishes and a tableside omakase experience. Omakase allows the chef to select and present a progression of dishes based on available ingredients rather than having diners order each course individually.

The original Tomo operates at the Ritz-Carlton Residences in Buckhead. It is included in the Michelin Guide’s Atlanta restaurant selection.

Michelin’s inspectors highlight the restaurant’s sushi and tasting menu, including an eight-course progression followed by sushi. The guide places Tomo in its highest price category.

The current Buckhead menu combines traditional Japanese techniques with contemporary influences. Offerings include nigiri, tuna tartare, black cod with sweet miso and seasonal chef-selected dishes, along with sake and cocktails.

The Alpharetta location’s opening date, hours, reservation schedule and final menu remain forthcoming.

Keep it. Pass it on.
