Prax Cafe Plans November Opening in East Alpharetta

Husband-and-wife team Saba Heydari and Sam Ramis plan to open Prax Cafe on Kimball Bridge Road in November, with coffee and Persian-influenced sweets.

Prax Cafe is preparing to open in east Alpharetta, where husband-and-wife owners Saba Heydari and Sam Ramis plan to pair coffee and desserts with touches of their Persian heritage.

The couple is targeting a November opening at 4390 Kimball Bridge Road, Suite A. A precise opening day has not been announced.

The new boutique cafe will seat about 20 to 30 people in a space designed to feel warm, modern and unhurried. Its owners envision a neighborhood gathering place where customers can settle in rather than simply collect a drink and leave.

“Our purpose was to just build a cozy place for people to come and chill and spend time,” Heydari told What Now Atlanta.

Plans call for coffee, cold drinks, cakes, sweets and other desserts with an international outlook. Persian flavors will help shape the menu, although specific dishes and drinks have not yet been announced.

That approach gives Prax room to distinguish itself within Alpharetta’s cafe market. The concept is centered on drinks, baked goods and the cultural influences the couple brings to the business.

The anticipated November debut will place Prax at Kimball Commons, a neighborhood retail center on Kimball Bridge Road, near the Alpharetta–Johns Creek boundary rather than downtown Alpharetta or Avalon.

That setting puts the cafe close to residential neighborhoods and everyday errands while supporting the owners’ goal of becoming a place for longer visits.

Heydari and Ramis have discussed eventually expanding the concept elsewhere in Georgia. The Alpharetta shop will be their first opportunity to establish a following for a small-format cafe centered on comfort, conversation and Persian-influenced sweets.

Prax Cafe is planned for 4390 Kimball Bridge Road, Suite A, in Alpharetta. Opening hours have not yet been announced.

Keep it. Pass it on.
