Paris Baguette Sets Sept. 16 Opening in Alpharetta’s Lakeview District

Paris Baguette will open in Alpharetta on Wednesday, Sept. 16, bringing a bakery café known for elaborate cakes, French-inspired pastries and Korean bakery traditions to Lake Street.
The new café will occupy Suite 105 at 4119 Lake St., beside the Eden at Lakeview apartment community. The location is part of the growing Lakeview district near North Point, Ga. 400 and Avalon.
Its arrival has taken longer than first expected. An opening was initially projected for July, but the additional construction and preparation pushed the debut into September. Paris Baguette now identifies the Alpharetta café as coming soon, with Sept. 16 set as the opening day.
The franchise is owned by Layne Alkaasamani, a Brazilian-born pastry chef who studied at culinary school in Switzerland. Alpharetta will be her second Paris Baguette café, following the location she operates on Ernest Barrett Parkway in Kennesaw.
Alkaasamani has said she was attracted to a franchise that could still resemble a neighborhood bakery, with pastries and breads prepared each morning instead of relying entirely on packaged products shipped to the store.
“I want this café to feel like part of the community and be a place our guests enjoy coming back to,” she told What Now Atlanta.
Despite its French name and European-style presentation, Paris Baguette began in South Korea. The company has since grown into an international chain with more than 4,000 cafés, including a rapidly expanding collection in the United States.
That background gives the menu a broader range than the name alone might suggest.
Customers can expect traditional café items such as baguettes, croissants, pain au chocolat and coffee alongside soft cream cakes, mochi doughnuts, sweet rice pastries and breads influenced by Korean bakery culture. Savory choices generally include quiche, croquettes, sandwiches and filled pastries.
Whole cakes are one of the company’s signatures. Varieties commonly include strawberry soft cream, blueberry chiffon, chocolate, red velvet, cheesecake and fruit-topped celebration cakes. Individual slices allow customers to try several flavors without ordering a full cake.
The Alpharetta café will also serve handcrafted coffee and other beverages, positioning it for morning visits, afternoon meetings and quick desserts as well as special-occasion cake orders.
Its location places the bakery within a newer residential and commercial district rather than a conventional shopping center.
Eden at Lakeview includes apartments and townhomes immediately beside the café, while the wider area sits between Alpharetta’s North Point and Avalon districts. The setting gives Paris Baguette potential customers who can reach it from nearby homes, offices and businesses without treating the visit as a regional shopping trip.
The opening also reflects the spread of Asian bakery culture beyond the parts of Gwinnett County where it first became familiar to many metro Atlanta customers.
Paris Baguette already operates cafés in Duluth, Doraville and Buford, alongside Georgia locations in Kennesaw, Dunwoody, Athens and Savannah. Another café is planned for Peachtree Corners.
North Fulton has independent bakeries, coffee shops and national café chains, but fewer large bakery concepts combining European pastry styles with the lighter cakes, filled breads and sweet-savory combinations commonly found in Korean cafés.
Alkaasamani’s pastry background may also give the Alpharetta opening a more personal character than a routine franchise expansion. She has described the Kennesaw café as a bridge between her training and her interest in operating a community-oriented business, and she plans to add two or three more Georgia locations.
Opening-week hours and any grand-opening promotions have not yet been announced. The Alpharetta café is expected to offer dine-in service, with online ordering and catering likely to follow after operations begin.
