The Brunch Spot Sets Sept. 2 Grand Opening in Johns Creek

The Brunch Spot celebrates its grand opening September 2 in Johns Creek, expanding its diverse brunch menu to the State Bridge Road area. Open Tuesday through Sunday, it brings varied flavors beyond typical breakfast standards, including Indian and Southern dishes.

The Brunch Spot will celebrate its Johns Creek grand opening Wednesday, Sept. 2, bringing a broad, internationally influenced breakfast and lunch menu to State Bridge Road.

The event begins at 11:30 a.m. at 5725 State Bridge Road. The restaurant is the second location for the Georgia business, following its original Brunch Spot in Lawrenceville.

Its arrival adds another daytime dining option to a Johns Creek restaurant market known for reflecting the city’s international population. While the menu includes familiar brunch standards, it reaches well beyond pancakes, omelets and avocado toast.

Indian burji pav pairs spiced scrambled eggs with Texas toast and naan. Mexican huevos rancheros combines potatoes, peppers, tomato sauce, fried tortillas and eggs. Other distinctive choices include a jalapeño tuna omelet and an Italian frittata filled with chicken, spinach, tomatoes, mushrooms and mozzarella.

The Southern side of the menu includes shrimp and grits, biscuits with sausage gravy, chicken and waffles and a grits breakfast bowl. Sweeter dishes range from blueberry pancakes and dulce de leche waffles to croissant French toast topped with peaches and whipped cream.

That mix gives the restaurant a wider reach than a conventional breakfast café. One table could order eggs and pancakes while another chooses a grilled salmon brunch platter, Cajun chicken pasta or fried catfish sandwich.

The menu also reflects a larger change in suburban dining. Brunch has developed from a weekend occasion into a distinct restaurant category, with businesses building their entire schedules around the hours between breakfast and midafternoon.

The Brunch Spot will follow that model in Johns Creek. Regular hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The restaurant will be closed Mondays.

Competition for brunch customers is already strong across North Atlanta. The Brunch Spot is betting that variety will help it stand apart.

The grand-opening celebration begins at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, at 5725 State Bridge Road in Johns Creek. After opening week, customers can visit Tuesday through Sunday or call 678-245-4110.
