A 14-year-old freshman at Innovation Academy in Alpharetta has earned a perfect 1600 on the SAT.
Ashrit Talluri completed 14½ high-school credits while attending Fulton Academy of Science and Technology. He also participated in college-level summer programs at Harvard and Rice before beginning ninth grade at Fulton County Schools’ North Fulton STEM magnet school.
Talluri registered for the SAT in January and spent five months preparing with a tutor, online videos and more than two dozen practice tests. He had already scored 1600 on three practice exams before taking the official test in June.
His family waited several weeks while the score was verified. Talluri is now taking two college-level courses through dual enrollment, playing chess and participating in metro Atlanta hackathons. He hopes to become a neurosurgeon.
Talluri has also begun creating SAT practice questions to help other students experiment with different test-taking strategies. FOX 5 Atlanta’s profile of the freshman follows his preparation and reaction to receiving the perfect score.
