Dunwoody residents can volunteer for the Great Dunwoody Cleanup on Nov. 14 by choosing a local spot to clean and registering with the city. The all-day event helps keep public spaces trash-free to protect local waterways.

Major local stories and useful updates, once a week.
Dunwoody residents can choose a street, stream or neighborhood gathering place to clean on Saturday, Nov. 14, as the city recruits volunteers for its annual Great Dunwoody Cleanup.
Registration is open to individuals, families, schools, teams and civic groups. The event runs from sunrise to sundown, rain or shine, allowing participants to choose a time and location that work for them.
The cleanup focuses on removing litter from public spaces before it reaches storm drains and local waterways.
“The Great Dunwoody Cleanup keeps gaining momentum because it’s easy for anyone to jump in,” Dunwoody Stormwater Manager Cody Dallas said in the city’s announcement. “When volunteers clear trash before it reaches a storm drain, they’re directly preventing pollution in our creeks.”
Participants can select a street, stream, neighborhood common area or wooded space, then register their cleanup plan with the city. Registration helps the stormwater team track which areas volunteers intend to cover and coordinate support.
The format allows neighbors to organize a cleanup close to home or schools and community groups to work together at a location they select. There is no single start time or gathering point listed in the announcement.
Volunteers are encouraged to photograph their work on Nov. 14 and share the results using #GreatDunwoodyCleanup. Photos can also be emailed to communications@dunwoodyga.gov.
