Chops Lobster Bar Coming to Johns Creek as Medley Hotel Joins Marriott’s Tribute Portfolio

Chops Lobster Bar will anchor the new Marriott Tribute Portfolio hotel at Medley in Johns Creek. The mixed-use development continues expanding with retail, residences, and offices.

Chops Lobster Bar will open at Medley in Johns Creek, bringing the Atlanta steakhouse to the northern suburbs as the anchor restaurant for the development’s planned 150-room hotel.

Toro Development Company announced the restaurant alongside confirmation that the hotel will join Marriott’s Tribute Portfolio, a collection of independently styled hotels that participate in Marriott Bonvoy.

For Johns Creek residents, the announcement adds a prominent dining name and answers one of the remaining questions about Medley: which hotel brand would join the mixed-use community.

A new dining destination

Chops Lobster Bar is part of Buckhead Life Restaurant Group, the Atlanta restaurant company founded by I. Pano Karatassos. Its portfolio includes Atlanta dining names such as Corner Cafe and Chops Lobster Bar, with restaurants extending into South Florida.

The Johns Creek location will anchor the hotel’s dining offering. The announcement shared with North Atlanta Star did not specify a restaurant opening date, menu, pricing or reservation details.

Marriott affiliation confirmed

The hotel is planned with Mainsail Lodging & Development, the Tampa-based hospitality company whose portfolio includes hotels across the Southeast and Caribbean.

Its Tribute Portfolio affiliation means the property will participate in Marriott Bonvoy while retaining an individual identity. A separate hotel name was not included in the material provided.

The hotel has previously been planned for 2028. Medley’s October 29, 2026, grand opening should not be read as an opening date for either the hotel or Chops Lobster Bar.

Another piece of Medley’s longer buildout

Medley occupies 43 acres at Johns Creek Parkway and McGinnis Ferry Road. The latest project announcement lists 145,000 square feet of retail, restaurant and entertainment space, 110,000 square feet of offices, 883 residences and a 25,000-square-foot plaza, alongside the hotel.

The restaurant and hotel announcement adds to a development that will continue taking shape beyond its initial opening this fall. Readers can find more on housing, parking, businesses and opening events in our Medley resident guide.

Keep it. Pass it on.
