Dogwood Opens Dunwoody Hospital With Imaging Job Paying $18–$38 an Hour

Dogwood Veterinary has launched a new hospital in Dunwoody offering emergency care and recruiting for a diagnostic imaging technician role with pay ranging from $18 to $38 an hour.

Dogwood Veterinary Specialty and Emergency opened its second hospital in Dunwoody on Oct. 20 and is recruiting experienced veterinary workers for a full-time diagnostic imaging position paying $18 to $38 an hour.

The hospital at 4500 North Shallowford Road operates around the clock for emergency and critical care. It expands Dogwood beyond its Marietta location, with specialists working across both hospitals and sharing patient cases.

The diagnostic imaging position remained open for applications Oct. 23. Qualifying licensed or credentialed veterinary technicians with substantial imaging, specialty or advanced technical experience may receive a $6,000 signing bonus. Experienced nonlicensed technicians and veterinary assistants with relevant skills may qualify for $1,000. Neither bonus is guaranteed to every applicant.

Applicants need at least two years of veterinary hospital experience, along with skills in patient monitoring, blood collection, IV catheter placement and anesthesia. Experienced assistants are encouraged to apply; the position is intended for people already working in veterinary care.

The work includes preparing and monitoring animals for MRI, CT, X-ray and fluoroscopy procedures, supporting anesthesia and recovery, and coordinating with veterinary specialists. Benefits include health coverage, a retirement plan with an employer match, continuing-education support and two paid continuing-education days.

The Dunwoody hospital has four operating rooms, a dedicated dialysis room and an oncology suite. Neurology and interventional cardiology are available there, while dermatology is scheduled to begin in November. Emergency patients can arrive without an appointment.

Workers can apply through the imaging role’s application form, which accepts résumés in PDF or Word format.
