Opinion
Your community. Your point of view.
What’s on your mind?
Our community is made up of people with different experiences, concerns and hopes for the place we share. Opinion is a place to put your views into words, explain what has shaped them and help your neighbors see an issue through your eyes.
Write about a local decision, an issue that reaches beyond our towns or something your own life has taught you. You do not need to be a professional writer or have a finished article. A few sentences are enough to start.
Three questions to get you started
Choose one if it helps, or write about something else entirely. These are invitations, not a questionnaire.
What would make life better in your town?
Think about a school decision, a road you use, new development or a service your neighbors depend on. What should change, and what difference would it make?
Write about thisWhat should our community make an effort to keep?
A local place, a tradition, a service or a way neighbors look after one another. Tell us why it matters and what you hope its future will be.
Write about thisWhat has your experience taught you that others might not see?
Your work, family or daily life may give you a view that is missing from a public conversation. What would you like your neighbors to understand?
Write about thisHave a different subject in mind?
Start there. Tell us what you think, why it matters to you and what you would like others to consider.
