Sugar Hill is hiring for a GIS specialist and a marketing and creative content coordinator.

Sugar Hill is recruiting a mapping specialist and a marketing coordinator, with two full-time openings posted Sept. 3 that call for skills ranging from geographic data analysis to photography and video production.

The positions offer local opportunities for technology and creative professionals, though neither comes with a published salary range or application deadline.

The GIS Specialist will manage the city’s geographic information system—the maps and location-based data used in planning, transportation, utilities and other public services. Duties include maintaining databases, producing maps, checking property information and developing interactive online mapping tools.

Applicants generally need a bachelor’s degree in geography, GIS, computer science or a related field, plus two years of professional experience with ArcGIS Pro, geodatabases and geospatial analysis. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered. Professional GIS certification is preferred, and a valid Georgia driver’s license is required.

The work is primarily indoors, with some evening and possible weekend meetings.

The Marketing & Creative Content Coordinator will photograph and film city events, produce promotional materials and help communicate information about parks, public projects and downtown activities. The employee will also advise Sugar Hill’s Youth Council.

Candidates need photography, video-editing and graphic-design skills, along with familiarity with tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva or CapCut. Qualifications call for knowledge comparable to a relevant bachelor’s degree and experience generally associated with more than one to three years of work. Occasional evening and weekend assignments are part of the role.

Both jobs connect directly to city operations: one supports decisions about land and infrastructure; the other helps residents follow public projects, services and events. The announcements do not specify whether the openings replace departing employees or increase staffing.

Applicants can complete Sugar Hill’s employment application and submit it to City Clerk Jane Whittington at jwhittington@cityofsugarhill.com, or deliver it to City Hall, 5039 West Broad Street, Sugar Hill, GA 30518. The city requires complete applications. Candidates should ask about compensation and the hiring timetable before proceeding.
