Synchrony Opens New Alpharetta Hub for More Than 650 Local Employees

Synchrony has launched a new office hub in Alpharetta’s Avalon district, supporting more than 650 employees and focused on hybrid and flexible work models.

Financial services company Synchrony celebrated the opening of its new Atlanta-area hub at Avalon in Alpharetta on Thursday, Oct. 8, bringing company leaders and Mayor Jim Gilvin together for a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The new workplace is designed to serve more than 650 local employees, with an emphasis on flexible schedules, hybrid work and collaboration.

The opening gives Synchrony a new corporate presence in one of North Fulton’s major mixed-use districts, where offices, restaurants, shops and residential buildings operate within walking distance of one another.

Unlike a conventional office designed primarily around individual workstations, the new hub emphasizes opportunities for employees to meet, work together and connect with colleagues and business partners.

Synchrony, headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut, provides consumer financing, credit cards and banking products. The company works with major retailers and hundreds of thousands of businesses, including healthcare and wellness providers.

The Alpharetta opening is part of the company’s broader approach to hybrid work, which combines flexibility for employees with physical workplaces intended to support collaboration and professional development.

Synchrony was named the No. 1 company on Fortune’s 2026 list of the 100 Best Companies to Work For, an annual ranking based on workplace culture and employee feedback.

For Alpharetta, the investment adds to a corporate employment base that has expanded alongside the city’s technology, financial services and professional services sectors.

Avalon, best known locally for its shopping, restaurants and entertainment, also includes office space that places employees within a mixed-use environment rather than a traditional standalone corporate campus.

The company has not announced how many of the 650-plus employees represent new hires, whether additional positions will be created or whether the opening involves the relocation of existing staff.

Keep it. Pass it on.
