Empty Snap Fitness gym floor with weight machines, benches and cable stations under a high ceiling — Snap Fitness Cumming is nearing completion on Peachtree Parkway as the club prepares to open in South Forsyth.

Forsyth County’s first Snap Fitness is nearing completion at 1485 Peachtree Parkway, bringing another round-the-clock gym to the rapidly growing South Forsyth corridor.

The club has begun selling discounted founding memberships, although an exact opening date remains unannounced. An earlier target of early September passed while final preparations continued.

Snap Fitness Cumming will provide members with 24-hour access to strength machines, free weights, cardio equipment, squat racks and cable stations.

The club will also include an infrared sauna, private showers, locker rooms and a dedicated recovery area with Hyperice equipment. A large turf zone will support functional training and athletic conditioning.

Owners Jack Ryan and Greg Mooneyham are positioning the gym as a smaller, service-focused alternative to warehouse-style fitness centers. The Cumming location will be their fourth club in the greater Atlanta area.

Ryan, who lives in Cumming, said the goal is to create a gym where staff members know customers personally and can provide more individualized support.

Personal training will be a significant part of the business. Matt Chimento, previously the general manager and head trainer at the ownership group’s Glenwood Park location, will lead the new club.

The opening adds to a wave of fitness investment across North Atlanta, ranging from boutique studios to large clubs planned around North Point and western Roswell. In South Forsyth, Snap Fitness will occupy a middle ground: a relatively compact neighborhood gym offering higher-end recovery amenities and 24-hour availability.

The Peachtree Parkway address is near Sharon Road and serves neighborhoods between Johns Creek and Cumming. Although it carries a Cumming mailing address, the property is outside the Cumming city limits.

The new club’s official page is accepting memberships and requests for additional information. Snap Fitness has not yet announced staffed hours or a formal grand-opening schedule.
