A Michigan-based logistics company is expanding its operations near San Antonio, Texas, with plans to add 150 jobs and consolidate two existing facilities into a 340,090-square-foot warehouse along Interstate 35.
Hollingsworth Logistics Group has signed a seven-year lease at Park35, a growing industrial development in Schertz, northeast of San Antonio. The expansion will retain 224 existing positions, bringing the company's planned local workforce to 374 employees.
The move follows an economic development agreement approved by the Schertz City Council and reflects continued demand for warehousing, distribution and supply-chain services in the corridor connecting San Antonio and Austin.
Hollingsworth has operated in Schertz for more than 15 years, serving customers in the aerospace, automotive, government, industrial and retail sectors. Its operations include warehousing, order fulfillment, packaging, assembly and distribution.
The company will move its existing operations from locations on Lookout Road and Tri-County Parkway into the larger Park35 facility.
“We are excited to continue that relationship as we expand our operations, invest in our local workforce, and position our business for continued growth in the community,” Hollingsworth Logistics President Mike McNamara said in a statement accompanying the expansion announcement, reported by the San Antonio Express-News on Oct. 5.
Expansion Comes With Public Incentives
Schertz officials approved an economic development performance agreement supporting Hollingsworth's relocation and expansion.
The agreement authorizes up to $1.5 million in economic development incentives over six years, following a unanimous recommendation from the Schertz Economic Development Corporation's board.
The City Council approved the agreement on Sept. 15 under Resolution 26-R-105. The incentive approval makes the expansion a public investment as well as a private business decision.
Schertz's economic development incentive program ties assistance to commitments involving employment, payroll and capital investment. Performance agreements also include provisions for recovering incentives if companies fail to meet their obligations.
The expansion is intended to retain Hollingsworth's existing workforce while creating additional positions, rather than replacing one local operation with another.
Details about the salaries, types of jobs and hiring schedule for the 150 new positions have not been publicly established.
A Growing Industrial Corridor
The new warehouse is located at Park35, an industrial development along Interstate 35 that has attracted manufacturers and distribution businesses seeking access to the San Antonio and Austin markets.
Schertz sits near several major transportation routes, including Interstates 35 and 10, Interstate 410 and Loop 1604. That network gives logistics companies access to regional manufacturing centers, airports and distribution markets across Central and South Texas.
The industrial park has also attracted international manufacturers. British plastics manufacturer RGE Group established its first U.S. operation there earlier in 2026, bringing approximately 50 manufacturing jobs.
Hollingsworth's expansion adds to that activity, although its project differs from a new manufacturing plant. The company provides the warehousing and supply-chain services that manufacturers, retailers and other businesses need to move products between facilities and customers.
The company already operates warehouses across several states, including Michigan, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. Its national operations support customers requiring storage, fulfillment, assembly and other distribution services.
Warehouse Improvements Planned
Preparations for Hollingsworth's new space are also moving through the state's construction registration process.
A Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing, registered Sept. 29, identifies work at 22867 Interstate 35 North, Suite 600, inside Park35 Building 6.
The filing covers the installation of warehouse storage racks within the 340,090-square-foot facility. The privately funded project carries an estimated cost of $200,000, with work scheduled to begin Dec. 4, 2026, and conclude Dec. 4, 2027.
Those dates apply specifically to the registered racking work, not necessarily to the company's entire relocation or the start of operations. A firm opening date for the consolidated facility has not been announced.
For Schertz, retaining an established logistics employer while adding 150 positions offers an opportunity to strengthen a growing industrial employment base.
The expansion also illustrates how the development of major manufacturing and commercial centers can create additional demand for the businesses that store, prepare and distribute their products.
As industrial activity continues along the San Antonio-Austin corridor, companies providing those supporting services are increasingly becoming part of the region's economic growth.
