The for-sale residential portion of Medley is moving closer to market as the mixed-use development prepares to open next month in Johns Creek.
Empire Homes this week opened first-access registration for Tableau at Medley, a planned neighborhood of 133 townhomes within the 43-acre development at Johns Creek Parkway and McGinnis Ferry Road.
Prices will begin in the $700,000s. Buyers can now register to receive floor plans, detailed pricing and early availability information before individual homes are released for sale.
The launch represents a new phase for Medley. Until now, most attention has centered on its restaurants, stores and first apartment community. Tableau will add homeownership to the development and introduce a denser residential option in a city where detached houses remain the dominant form of housing.
The Tableau neighborhood will offer four three-story floor plans ranging from 1,939 to 2,794 square feet. Homes are planned with three or four bedrooms and 3½ bathrooms.
The smallest design, called Raleigh, will contain 1,939 square feet. The Harleigh will span 2,722 square feet, while two versions of the Hayden will offer 2,794 square feet, including one with a basement.

Plans emphasize open living spaces, natural light and outdoor areas, with front terraces helping connect the homes to surrounding streets and public spaces. The neighborhood will sit within walking distance of Medley’s central plaza, restaurants, shops and green space.
An exact date for the first sales contracts, model-home opening or resident move-ins has not been announced.
Still, the start of registration gives prospective buyers their first practical opportunity to pursue a home within the development rather than simply follow its construction.
The development’s first apartment community, Prelude at Medley, is already leasing 340 one- and two-bedroom homes for a fall opening. A later community called Encore is expected to add 408 apartments in 2027.
Together, Tableau, Prelude and Encore are planned to provide 881 homes. Only the 133 Tableau townhomes will be offered for individual ownership.

For Johns Creek, those homes add another option between a conventional suburban house and an apartment.
Residents will still receive multilevel living space, private entrances and room for families or home offices, but without the larger yards and more isolated street patterns common across much of the city. The tradeoff is proximity: restaurants, coffee, groceries, fitness businesses and public events will be reachable on foot.
That arrangement reflects the larger purpose of Medley. The project is transforming a former State Farm office campus into a town-center district intended to remain active beyond conventional business hours. Its first phase combines housing, offices, stores, restaurants and a 25,000-square-foot gathering plaza.
A Trader Joe’s will serve as the grocery anchor. The dining lineup includes Shake Shack, Five Daughters Bakery, Summit Coffee, Rena’s Italian Fishery & Grill, Fogón and Lions, Lily Sushi Bar, 26 Thai Kitchen & Bar, CRÚ Food & Wine Bar and several other concepts.

Sephora, Warby Parker, High Country Outfitters and locally oriented boutiques will join fitness, beauty and personal-service businesses.
For Tableau residents, those businesses will function as neighborhood amenities rather than destinations requiring a separate drive. That is still an uncommon arrangement in Johns Creek, despite the growth of walkable mixed-use centers elsewhere in North Atlanta.
The development may also appeal to longtime residents who want to reduce the maintenance associated with a detached house without leaving the city.
Whether the starting price proves sustainable will become clearer once specific homes are released. A price in the $700,000s is lower than many newly built detached houses in Johns Creek, but it remains well beyond what many first-time buyers can afford. Buyers will largely be paying for new construction, a central location and direct access to Medley’s commercial and social activity.
The launch therefore expands the city’s housing choices more than its housing affordability.
Medley’s public debut is scheduled across three days. A ticketed preview benefiting the Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra will be held Oct. 28, followed by a ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. Oct. 29 and a family-oriented Halloween celebration Oct. 30.
The grand-opening schedule will give residents their first broad look at the development’s streets, plaza, businesses and gathering spaces, although individual tenants may begin operating on different dates.
Tableau will continue taking shape after those first visitors arrive.
For now, the opening of first-access registration provides another sign that Medley is becoming more than a collection of shops and restaurants. It is beginning the more consequential work of becoming a neighborhood.
