Woodstock’s Noonday Creek Trail Extension Opens November 14, Linking to Cobb County

The 1.5-mile addition follows Noonday Creek beneath Highway 92, giving walkers, runners and cyclists a new connection from Woodstock into Cobb County.

Walkers, runners and cyclists will have a new route from Woodstock into Cobb County when the Noonday Creek Trail extension opens Saturday, November 14.

The 1.5-mile addition extends the existing trail southward, linking the trailhead near Reformation Brewery and Elm Street Green with Noonday Creek Park in Cobb County. The route follows the creek corridor and passes beneath Highway 92.

“This project has been nearly a decade in the making, and we’re thrilled to celebrate its completion,” Woodstock Mayor Michael Caldwell said in a written statement.

Construction began in December 2023, with Woodstock, Cherokee County, Cobb County, the Atlanta Regional Commission and the Georgia Department of Transportation involved in the project. GDOT helped fund the work.

The extension gives people more room to walk, run and cycle beyond downtown Woodstock while joining Cherokee and Cobb counties’ trail systems. City officials see it as a step toward an eventual connection to the Silver Comet Trail; that longer connection is still a future goal.
