Life Time Eyes First Forsyth County Club Along Post Road
Life Time is eyeing a new club on Post Road in Forsyth County, joining other upscale fitness spots as the area grows and road projects improve access.

Life Time is considering a Post Road property for what would become its first location in Forsyth County, bringing the possibility of a large resort-style fitness complex to one of the county’s fastest-growing corridors.
The proposed site was first reported by Forsyth County News. The project remains in an early stage, and a final site plan, construction schedule, opening date and detailed amenity list have not been announced.
Still, the company’s interest is notable. Life Time operates full-service athletic country clubs in Alpharetta, Johns Creek, Peachtree Corners and other parts of metro Atlanta. Its clubs are designed as broader lifestyle destinations rather than conventional gyms, commonly combining large workout floors with pools, group fitness studios, children’s programming, recovery services and, depending on the property, tennis or pickleball facilities.
What Is Already Nearby?
Just south of the likely development area sits Midway Park, home to youth baseball and softball programs that draw thousands of families throughout the year. Across the road is Swim Atlanta, one of the county’s best-known competitive and instructional swim facilities.
A few minutes north, Vickery Village serves as the area’s mixed-use center with restaurants, shops and professional offices. The development is also home to Onelife Fitness, showing that the market already supports premium health and wellness businesses.
Nearby neighborhoods including Polo Golf & Country Club, Windermere and Vickery provide a large base of higher-income households that fit Life Time’s typical membership profile.

Post Road Is Preparing for More Traffic
The potential site is especially significant because Post Road is no longer functioning simply as a two-lane route through a mostly residential area. Forsyth County is advancing a major widening program intended to create a four-lane divided corridor with pedestrian and bicycle improvements.
County commissioners approved right-of-way certification this spring for the southern section from Atlanta Highway to Kelly Mill Road. The broader Post Road work is expected to improve access through western Forsyth, although construction will also bring disruption before the long-term capacity arrives.
A destination fitness club would add another substantial traffic generator to a road already serving schools, neighborhoods, Midway Park, Swim Atlanta and the Vickery area. Its eventual site plan will therefore matter almost as much as the brand itself. Entrances, turning lanes, buffers, parking and connections to the widened roadway are likely to become central questions as the proposal moves through county review.
For now, Life Time’s interest is best understood as a proposal rather than a completed deal. But it offers another indication of where Forsyth County’s commercial center of gravity is moving. Post Road, once defined largely by subdivisions, churches, schools and open parcels, is increasingly attracting the kind of investment that follows a larger, wealthier and more urbanized suburban population.
