Peachtree Corners has a sizable employment base, but much of that activity does not count toward retail sales.

PEACHTREE CORNERS, Ga. — A new cultural celebration will take over the heart of Peachtree Corners on Saturday, offering families a full day of international performances, food and hands-on experiences.

The Peachtree Corners International and Cultural Festival is scheduled for Aug. 22 at Town Green, 5140 Town Center Blvd. The city’s event page and community calendar set the hours at noon to 10 p.m.

Produced by WOW Afro Foundation in partnership with the city, the festival will feature musicians, dancers and artists representing cultures from around the world. An international marketplace will offer handcrafted goods, fashion and artwork, while food vendors and interactive exhibits will highlight global cuisine, history and traditions.

The program is designed for adults and families, with activities planned for children as well as opportunities to learn about the cultures represented.

Admission is free, but watch the start time

Admission is free. A $0 general RSVP remains available, with online signups scheduled to close at 6 p.m. Saturday. Advance registration is not identified as a requirement, but claiming the free RSVP provides a confirmation and a way for organizers to share urgent information.

Readers should note a discrepancy between the public listings: Both city pages give a noon opening, while the organizer’s RSVP is timed from 2 to 10 p.m. Unless the city posts a revision, noon is the stronger published start time. Visitors arriving for a particular performance should check again later this week because a stage-by-stage schedule and complete vendor roster have not yet been released.

Parking and weather planning

Free parking is available in the Town Center lots and parking deck. For a large crowd, the city also opens overflow parking at 3720 Davinci Court, 3715 Davinci Court and 5051 Peachtree Corners Circle. Those lots connect to Town Green by a marked pedestrian path. The city’s special-events information includes a parking map.

Visitors should bring water and sun protection and consider taking an indoor meal break at one of the surrounding Town Center restaurants. Bikes, scooters and skates are not permitted inside the special-event area.

No cancellation or weather-related schedule change had been posted Monday morning. If storms threaten, updates will appear on the city community calendar and the city’s social channels.
