Three Dollar Café Is Preparing to Open in Johns Creek

Johns Creek is set to welcome another familiar Atlanta restaurant as Three Dollar Café prepares to open a new location at Abbotts Village on Jones Bridge Road.

Construction is underway inside one of the shopping center’s largest restaurant spaces, where crews are transforming the former Wild Wing Cafe into the company’s newest full-service sports bar. While the restaurant has not announced an opening date, work has accelerated in recent weeks, and hiring has begun for servers and bartenders.

Founded in Sandy Springs in 1983, Three Dollar Café built its reputation on chicken wings, burgers, sandwiches and a neighborhood sports-bar atmosphere. Today, the company operates several restaurants across metro Atlanta, including locations in Alpharetta, Peachtree Corners, Buford, Chamblee, Kennesaw and Marietta.

The Johns Creek restaurant represents something of a homecoming for the brand. A smaller Three Dollar Café Jr. once operated elsewhere in the city, but the new restaurant will return the company with a larger, more traditional concept.

Its arrival also fills a noticeable gap at Abbotts Village. Since Wild Wing Cafe closed, one of the shopping center’s most visible restaurant locations has remained empty. Once open, Three Dollar Café will again give the center a destination built around televised sports, casual dining and gathering with friends.

The timing could prove especially favorable. As football season approaches, demand traditionally rises for restaurants offering large dining rooms, multiple televisions and neighborhood sports-bar appeal. If construction continues on its current pace, Three Dollar Café could open just as one of the busiest seasons of the year begins.
