A Spring Market Returns to Avalon with Local Makers, Music, and a Full Day Outdoors

A familiar stretch of Avalon’s central plaza will take on a different rhythm this month, as rows of artisan booths and live music turn the space into a full-day outdoor market.

The upcoming Makers Market Local Artist Fair is scheduled for Sunday, April 19, bringing more than 30 local artists to Avalon for a spring event centered on handmade goods and small business support.

A Day Built Around Local Makers

From late morning through early evening, visitors can expect a wide mix of locally crafted items. The fair leans into variety, with vendors offering everything from handmade jewelry and apparel to candles, bath products, crochet pieces, artwork, and home goods.

The event is designed as a relaxed, walk-through experience rather than a traditional market setup, making it easy to move between booths, stop for conversations with artists, and spend time browsing without a fixed schedule.

Families are part of the focus as well. The outdoor setting is both kid-friendly and pet-friendly, which tends to give these Avalon events a steady, all-day flow rather than a single peak window.

Live Music and a Familiar Local Presence

Adding to the atmosphere, Alpharetta musician Frank Whitaker is set to perform live during the event. His presence has become something of a recurring feature at local gatherings, helping create a consistent, easygoing backdrop rather than a staged performance moment.

Inside the Store, Beyond the Fair

Just steps from the outdoor booths, the Makers Market retail shop at Avalon will also be open throughout the day. The store typically carries products from more than 100 American makers, offering a different experience from the temporary vendor setups outside.

For visitors, it creates a natural extension of the event—moving from open-air browsing into a curated retail space without leaving the area.

Event Details

The market runs on Sunday, April 19, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Avalon (3175 Avalon Blvd, Alpharetta). Admission is free, and the event is open to the public.

For those who enjoy these kinds of events, it fits into a broader pattern at Avalon, where seasonal programming often blends shopping, dining, and community gatherings into a single afternoon.
