Jeffrey Allen leads Bucky Johnson by 410 votes in Norcross’s special City Council election, with certification still pending.
The city’s unofficial count from the Nov. 3 election gives Allen 750 votes and Johnson 340. Allen received about 68.8% of the 1,090 votes reported for the two candidates; Johnson received about 31.2%.
The election fills the remainder of the council term previously held by Marshall Cheek. Allen and Johnson were the two candidates who qualified for the race in September.
The totals remain unofficial until certification. Norcross will publish the certified result after that process is complete.
Residents can follow the city’s election result announcement and its elections page for official updates.
