Amorino Marks Medley Grand Opening With 1,000 Free Cones

Amorino Gelato marks its Johns Creek opening at Medley Nov. 6 with free cones for its first 1,000 guests.

Amorino Gelato will mark its Johns Creek grand opening Friday, Nov. 6, by giving a free cone to each of its first 1,000 guests.

The new shop is at 7125 Medley Crossing inside Medley, the mixed-use district that opened in stages beginning Oct. 29. It is Amorino’s third Georgia location.

The Friday grand opening gives Johns Creek residents a firm opening date after Amorino appeared among the businesses expected during Medley’s first week. The district’s restaurants and shops have been arriving on different schedules rather than opening at once.

Amorino is best known for arranging gelato in overlapping petals to create a flower-shaped cone. Customers may combine several flavors in one serving, with each flavor forming part of the design.

The menu extends beyond cones to sorbet, sundaes, milkshakes, gelato-filled macarons, crepes, waffles and hot drinks. The company says its gelato and sorbet contain no artificial colors or flavors and are gluten-free. Its recipes use fresh milk and organic free-range eggs.

Indoor and outdoor seating will give the Johns Creek shop the feel of a small European café, with enough variety to serve both daytime visitors and people looking for dessert after dinner elsewhere at Medley.

Founded in Paris in 2002 by childhood friends Cristiano Sereni and Paolo Benassi, Amorino has expanded to more than 15 countries while retaining an Italian-style gelato menu. Owner Germán Rodríguez said the Johns Creek store was designed to bring that experience to the new development.

The opening adds another dessert business to Medley’s evolving restaurant lineup, alongside Cookie Fix, Five Daughters Bakery and Playa Bowls. It also gives visitors another reason to remain in the district after its shops begin closing, particularly on Fridays and Saturdays.

Regular hours are scheduled for noon to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, noon to 11 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday. Opening-day hours may change, and visitors making a special trip for the giveaway should confirm before leaving.

Keep it. Pass it on.
