Primark’s first Georgia store opens Sept. 8, with $15-an-hour jobs in Lawrenceville

LAWRENCEVILLE — Primark will open its first Georgia store Sept. 8 at Sugarloaf Mills, bringing a new source of retail and stockroom work within commuting distance of Duluth, Suwanee, Sugar Hill and Peachtree Corners.
The international clothing and home-goods retailer’s new store will have more than 26,000 square feet of selling space. It will be Primark’s 47th U.S. location, according to the company’s opening announcement.
The company is actively recruiting in Lawrenceville. Current openings include full- and part-time sales associates, stockroom associates, replenishment associates, seasonal positions, a cash-office and operations associate, and store people-and-culture roles. Primark has not disclosed how many employees it plans to hire.
Several of the entry-level positions begin at $15 an hour. The company says workers in those roles are eligible for 50-cent hourly increases after six months and one year of continued employment. Retail experience is preferred but not required for sales-associate and stockroom jobs; the postings emphasize customer service, organization and the ability to work in a fast-paced store.
Primark also advertises paid time off based on hours worked, an employee discount and a 401(k) plan with company matching. The available roles include both permanent and seasonal work, so applicants should check the schedule and employment status before applying.
The opening is notable because it creates actual, currently advertised jobs rather than only a future employment promise. For North Gwinnett workers seeking flexible retail hours, the store offers a new option as the holiday hiring season approaches.
