Uline offers up to $34 an hour at Braselton warehouse hiring event Thursday

BRASSELTON — Uline is holding a warehouse hiring event Thursday afternoon for day- and night-shift jobs at its Georgia distribution center, offering starting pay from $26 to $34 an hour.

The event runs from 3 to 7 p.m. at 705 Braselton Industrial Blvd. It is aimed at warehouse associate positions, and applicants must register in advance and receive a scheduled appointment. The company says it will not accept walk-ins.

The Braselton site is outside North Atlanta’s core communities but is a realistic commute for many workers in South Forsyth, Suwanee, Sugar Hill and northern Gwinnett, particularly those already using the Interstate 85 corridor.

Day-shift warehouse associates are offered $26 to $32 an hour, generally working Monday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., with overtime opportunities. Night-shift associates are offered $28 to $34 an hour for a Sunday-through-Thursday schedule running from 8:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The difference is substantial. At the bottom of the day-shift range, a full-time schedule works out to about $54,080 a year before overtime. The top advertised night-shift rate equals roughly $70,720 annually, though actual yearly earnings depend on hours worked and do not include deductions for taxes or benefits.

The jobs are not entry-level office positions. Warehouse associates pick and pack customer orders, load outbound trailers, unload deliveries and use forklifts or other powered industrial equipment. Applicants need a high school diploma or equivalent, must be able to move packages weighing 50 to 70 pounds and must be comfortable working at heights of up to 30 feet.

Uline also requires new hires to complete a pre-employment hair-follicle drug screening.

The company’s current Braselton job listings show a broader round of local recruiting beyond Thursday’s event. Openings include regular and bilingual customer-service representatives, warehouse operations analysts, a mechanic, a custodian, an inside sales representative, a custom-orders representative and a director of distribution and operations.

Not every listing signals a large number of openings. A job posting can represent one hire or several, and Uline has not announced a total planned headcount for the Braselton recruitment. But the breadth of positions offers a clearer sign of active hiring than a single routine vacancy.

For workers without a four-year degree, the warehouse positions stand out for their pay. Georgia’s statewide average hourly wage across all private employment was lower than the posted Uline warehouse ranges, although the job’s physical requirements, fixed shifts and possible overtime should be part of any comparison.

Uline says its warehouse employees receive health coverage, a 401(k) with a 6% employer match beginning on the first day of employment, paid holidays, paid time off and tuition assistance. The company also advertises hands-on training, meaning applicants do not need prior warehouse-equipment experience if they meet the basic physical and education requirements.

For workers leaving lower-paid retail, hospitality or warehouse jobs, Thursday’s event may be worth pursuing. The main practical limitation is that it is appointment-only: interested applicants need to register before heading to Braselton.
