Medley Sets Three-Day Grand Opening for Johns Creek Town Center

Medley, a major mixed-use development in Johns Creek, is launching with a three-day celebration featuring shops, dining, apartments, and community events.

Medley is preparing for a three-day grand opening at Johns Creek Parkway and McGinnis Ferry Road.

After years of planning and nearly two years of construction, Johns Creek’s largest new mixed-use development has set the celebration that will formally open its streets, restaurants, shops and central plaza.

Medley will hold three days of opening events Oct. 28–30 at Johns Creek Parkway and McGinnis Ferry Road. The schedule begins with a ticketed preview, followed by a public grand opening and a Friday night Halloween celebration.

The opening marks an important transition for the 43-acre development. What has largely been a construction site surrounding a recently opened Trader Joe’s will begin functioning as the walkable commercial and residential district promised for the heart of the city’s Town Center.

The first event, Medley Unveiled, will run from 6 to 10 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28. The ticketed evening will include early access to the property, food from Medley restaurants and live entertainment. Proceeds will benefit the Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra.

Medley’s public grand opening begins at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, with a ribbon cutting and activities throughout the 25,000-square-foot Plaza.

The opening weekend continues from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, with a family Halloween celebration featuring live music and activities on the Plaza.

The three-day schedule gives residents their clearest timeline yet for a project intended to create the day-to-night gathering place Johns Creek has long lacked.

Medley’s first phase brings apartments above restaurants and shops, pedestrian-oriented streets, public art and a central lawn designed for concerts, markets and community events. Developer Toro Development Company plans as many as 200 events a year at the property.

More than 30 businesses have committed to the development. The dining roster includes Shake Shack, 26 Thai Kitchen & Bar, Northern China Eatery, Tabla, Lily Sushi Bar, Fadó Irish Pub, Rena’s Italian Fishery & Grill, CT Cantina & Taqueria, Summit Coffee, Five Daughters Bakery and Amorino Gelato.

Sephora, Warby Parker and High Country Outfitters are among the larger retail names. Medley will also include local and regional businesses such as Moop’s Boutique, Minnie Olivia Pizzeria, The Nest Café and Fogón and Lions.

Not every business is guaranteed to begin operating on the same day. Openings are expected to continue in stages as individual spaces are completed and tenants finish hiring and training.

The development’s first 340 apartments are now leasing at Prelude at Medley, with initial homes expected to become available around the October opening. The apartments range from one to two bedrooms and sit directly above or beside the new commercial district.

Later phases will add more homes and office space. The full project is planned to include 883 residences, 110,000 square feet of offices and a 150-room boutique hotel expected in 2028. Toro Development Company places the total investment at approximately $560 million.

Later phases of Medley are planned to add office space, more homes and a boutique hotel to the Town Center development.

Trader Joe’s gave residents an early reason to enter the property when it opened in June, but the October debut will be the first test of Medley as a complete destination rather than a single grocery stop.

Medley is located at 2140 Medley Boulevard in Johns Creek. It also sits beside the city’s new Boardwalk at Town Center, creating a broader district of trails, wetlands, park space and private development around City Hall. Its grand-opening celebration begins Oct. 28, with the main public opening and ribbon cutting scheduled for Oct. 29.
