What Garage Sale Find Are You Still Proud Of?

There is something wonderfully local about a good garage sale in North Atlanta. On a Saturday morning in Johns Creek, Alpharetta, Milton, Suwanee or South Forsyth, a driveway can turn into a small neighborhood museum: lamps, side tables, children’s bikes, old books, garden pots, framed art, tools, holiday decorations and the occasional object nobody knew they needed until they saw it sitting there in the morning sun.

Garage sales are partly about bargains, of course. But they are also about taste, memory and instinct. The best finds are not always expensive, rare or especially grand. Sometimes they are simply the things that follow us home and stay there, earning a permanent place in a room, a routine or a family story.
