Peachtree Puttery Breaks Ground in South Forsyth, Bringing Bowling, Mini Golf and More to Peachtree Parkway

South Forsyth’s Peachtree Parkway corridor is getting a major new entertainment destination.
Developers broke ground Monday, Aug. 10, on Peachtree Puttery, a two-story family entertainment complex planned along Peachtree Parkway near Sentinel Chase Way in Cumming. The project has been discussed for some time, but this week’s groundbreaking moves it decisively from proposal to construction.
And despite the name, miniature golf will be only one part of it.
The approximately 31,800-square-foot building is designed to include 12 bowling lanes, more than 60 arcade games, eight axe-throwing lanes, five billiards tables and an 18-hole outdoor miniature-golf course. Plans also call for social games, event space and multiple places to eat and drink.
Food will be a significant part of the operation rather than an afterthought. The current design includes two restaurants, three bars and a full kitchen, with two of the bars configured for indoor-outdoor service. A roughly 6,000-square-foot mezzanine will overlook the activity below, while a 2,600-square-foot roof deck is planned above.
That combination puts Peachtree Puttery closer to the newer generation of “eat-and-play” destinations than a traditional bowling alley or family arcade.
For South Forsyth residents, that may be its biggest appeal. The area has accumulated restaurants, shopping centers and sports facilities rapidly, but relatively few large venues where families, teenagers and adults can spend an entire evening without moving from one business to another.
The project is also larger than the entertainment center itself. The broader development has included plans for a five-story, 110-room hotel and a roughly 16,000-square-foot retail building alongside the main attraction. Earlier plans identified a Tru by Hilton as the potential hotel brand.
Architectural renderings show the mini-golf course wrapping through landscaped grounds outside the building, with patios and upper-level outdoor areas overlooking the course. The outdoor component alone is planned at about 10,200 square feet, with another 5,900 square feet devoted to patio space.
The site is near Peachtree Parkway and Sentinel Chase Way, placing it on one of South Forsyth’s busiest north-south routes and only a short drive from The Collection at Forsyth. Earlier development plans placed the entertainment center at the 2300 block of Peachtree Parkway.
No firm public opening date has been announced. With construction now beginning, however, Peachtree Puttery has crossed the milestone that matters most for residents who have watched numerous ambitious projects appear on development plans: shovels are finally in the ground.
If the finished complex comes close to the plans, South Forsyth will gain something it does not have much of today — a large, locally distinctive place built not simply to eat, shop or exercise, but to spend an evening.
