Major local stories and useful updates, once a week.
Sugar Polish Nail Bar is expanding again in Forsyth County, with a new location planned for Forsyth Town Center in South Forsyth.
The salon recently signed a lease at the new development near the intersection of Ronald Reagan Boulevard and Peachtree Parkway. An opening date has not yet been announced, and the location remains in the early stages of development.
The new salon will give Sugar Polish two locations in Cumming. Its existing shop operates at Cumming City Center, where it offers manicures, pedicures, waxing and other beauty services.
Sugar Polish began in Athens in 2018 and has since expanded around Georgia, including locations in Roswell, West Midtown, Watkinsville and Canton. The company has built its business around higher-end nail services and a modern salon setting.
The Forsyth Town Center lease is notable not simply because another salon is coming to Cumming, but because the tenant mix at one of South Forsyth’s newest shopping centers is beginning to broaden.
The development is anchored by Whole Foods Market and sits directly across Ronald Reagan Boulevard from The Collection at Forsyth. Potbelly is also preparing a restaurant there, with a target opening later this year.
Until now, much of the attention around the project has focused on food and grocery tenants. Sugar Polish adds a personal-services business that could generate repeat neighborhood traffic rather than relying primarily on shoppers making occasional restaurant or retail visits.
The company has not yet announced when appointments will begin at the new salon.
